Healing Horses for the Armed Forces

The Healing Horses for the Armed Forces program serves active duty and veteran service members, as well as their family members. Sessions are open to the service member, their spouse, and their children free of charge.

At Eagle’s Nest Ranch, we honor those who serve or have served by providing a space where healing can begin—without pressure, judgment, or expectation.

Our sessions are designed to help you decompress, let go of pain and grief, and take hold of the life meant for you. Horses respond to what we carry beneath the surface, offering honest, immediate feedback, which helps us see ourselves and what we want to change. If we are willing to become vulnerable, our hearts can be healed, and we can move ahead with God’s help and support.

Horses have led our military into battle over centuries of conflict. At Eagle’s Nest Ranch, they serve as steadfast companions in a service member’s journey home.

You are not meant to carry it alone.

First Responders

Our First Responder program serves active duty and retired law enforcement, firefighters, and paramedics, as well as immediate family members. Sessions are open to the first responder, their spouse and/or children free of charge.

For many of you, the job is a calling. You were born to serve, protect and defend; to be courageous and brave, no matter the risk involved. You see people in their darkest moments, witness the unimaginable, and must think on your feet when seconds matter. You often work long hours, holidays, and miss important family events. Serving as you do can be overwhelming as you live the day in and day out stress, uncertainties and emergencies.

In the peaceful and safe environment of the ranch, the horses will meet you where you are without expectations. They help lower stress, increase awareness, and help restore a sense of peace.

This is your time to refuel—mentally, emotionally, and spiritually—so you can continue serving from a place of strength.

“My God in His steadfast love will meet me.”

Psalm 59:10a

First Responder Buckaroo Days

Eagle's Nest Ranch also supports and honors our local law enforcement and firefighter communities at our annual First Responder Families Buckaroo Days. This event takes place in June and July of each year and includes games, crafts, and time with horses, as well as hayrides for a fun, relaxing, and encouraging experience. Lunch is provided.

Our desire is to honor and thank you for your service by offering a fun safe day for your family at the Ranch. There is no charge to attend. Registration is first come, first serve. Each Spring, we will post the dates and registration links under Events. Active first responder families with children ages 5 and up are eligible to participate.

For Family Members

Service doesn’t just impact the one serving—it impacts the entire family. The profession of your loved one can take its toll on family members, some more than others. We offer sessions for spouses and children age 6 and up. The session can be as a family unit or for an individual family member.

You each have a part in serving, which can sometimes have an unintended negative or challenging impact. Deployments and service away from home brings uncertainty and sometimes fear. We are here to be a support to you, as well as for your children in time of need.

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in time of trouble.”
